Railway museum in Kyoto

We spent 1 whole day at railway museum in Kyoto. There are lots of Japanese trains to see and some you can go inside. Also can learn about the mechanism of train by playing! Highly recommended to see railway diorama on 2F and also ride the SL train outside. Both run by schedule so check the time table when you get there.
Steam trains displayed outside
If you want to try the train simulator, you need to get the lottery ticket at 2F simulator counter. You will have to wait and see if you win the spot or not so I recommend you to get the ticket in advance. You will get one lottery number per entrance ticket so don't forget to bring all of your family's tickets so more chance to win the spot. Then you will need to line up at to get the slot time. Weekend could be very busy. There are some restaurants inside the museum but also nice to bring your own lunch/snack and eat at the roof top.

Can walk under the train
English manual available for the simulator
